how clearly we've converted we've shown that tonight

Thanks for these lyrics. I watched the video many times, I understood most of the words but I wanted to understand all the words and I couldn't because I'm not a native English speaker.

Someone is so eager to go metric they aren't up on the U.S. fluid volume system.
4 fluid ounces are in a GILL.
As for this song being PRO metric, it is obviously poking fun at some of the more unwieldly conversions in customary units. One could just as easily, though, point out unwieldly conversions in metric such as meters per second from kilometers per hour. MPH converts very nicely to FPS.
Also, I would like to point out that tablespoons and teaspoons aren't official units of measurement, whereas quarts and gallons are. There are fluid ounces and minims officially in customary measure.
Despite my standing on the other side of the fence in my support of customary units of measure, I do have to admit a real admiration for this song. It does point out the trivial nature of some people's objections to conversion. Unfortunately, there are very real obstacles to conversion, as the chaos in many other English-speaking counties has bourne out. There are also many more countries than Burma/Myanmar and Liberia that still use customary units.
Imperial gallons remain in use in nine different nations for fuel sales, and there are many many many continuing uses of customary units in the UK, Canada, several carribean islands, India, and also the continued uses of other non-Imperial customary units throughout the world.
Japan, China, Taiwan, and Mexico are just a few other countries that continue to use their own customary units of measure.
Also, internationally the Imperial system is still used for aircraft altitude, in plumbing, and for things such as monitor sizes. Many products are standardized on imperial measures.
