Vale Pat Naughtin - our Mr Metrication!
It is with great sadness that we learnt that a regular guest on Overnights, Pat Naughtin, (Mr Metrication) passed away on Saturday July 16 2011.
Pat’s regular segments on measurement were extremely popular with our listeners. We really appreciated Pat’s enthusiasm for the program, he would even travelled from his home in Geelong to come into the studio with Trevor.
It’s astonishing to us that his last segment on Overnights was soy recent, just 5th June this year .
Here's a little snippet of the program which will show you his brilliance with measurment and understanding of its history :

Pat you will be greatly missed on Overnights.
His partner Wendy writes : “He was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer in March 2010, and since then has had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and survived a large operation last year. Throughout he not only continued his correspondence and newsletters, he also gave talks to groups all over Victoria, some as large as 400 to 600 people, and some as small as 20, urging people to have a bowel scan. Bowel cancer has one of the best survival rates if detected early. Pat's Rotary club actively promoted scans and Pat helped in their promotion, but never had one himself.
In honour of Pat please have a bowel scan”.
